Baney to deal with & you bet she gets it she is very spunky. they are raising money to get Frank Reynolds a nice present of a handsome billfold & they each member give .75

I was lucky to get my lawn done Friday by the Leonard boy. he worked like a little tiger& I gave him .75 he did a good job. so I told him to come again in a fortnight. he is a nice little lad. I also payed the insurance on the Bruce Place. it ran out the 20th of this month so I though as long as the old place was being fixed up with all the rest of the bills coming due I would pay this one out of the rent money. now it goes on till 1950. I havent been over to the old place, its been so rainy but guess Kimptis is working there on the inside. he was sensible about that back shed. that would cost a lot of money & seemed a useless expense. We manage to get meat but not much at a time. we got a little mackerel & a nice piece of veal for a roast, together with a few vegetables. They look out for us pretty well. it was so cold yesterday I made up a fire in the little stove out of cinders. There was no sun & the wind blew a gale. I took my stone to bed & it felt good. lots of rain this month so far, now will close my letter. love Ma
