Know all men by these Presents
 That I Henry Tobey of Falmouth in 
the County of Barnstable a true and loyal
Citizen of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
and of the United States of America Gentleman
Have constituted, ordained, and made, and
in my stead and place put William S Croft of the city
of Georgetown in the District of Georgetown and State of South Carolina Merchant to be
my true, sufficient, and lawful Attorney for
me and in my name and Stead to ask, demand,
recover of and receiving of word from any and all
parties, who may have used, occupied any part
or the whole of my Real Estate, situated and lying
on Bay street, in the said City of Georgetown, 
since the year 1859 any and all Sums of money
due, owing, to coming to me from the use and occupancy of the Sums, and upon the payment to the
said Croft of the sums I authorize my said
Attorney in my name a full discharge from 
me of the same to make us complete as I could
make, were I personally present, and acting
in the same. I also fully authorize my said 
Attorney to let or lease the said Real Estate's
afore said as best he may to any responsible
party or parties for the best prices he can obtain
for the term of Six Months, whatever my said
Attorney do in these matters I certify and confirm
and make as valid if done by myself pers-
sonally. 
Giving and Hereby Granting, 
unto my said Attorney full power and authority
in and about the premises; and to use all
due means, course and process in the law for the 
fully effectual and complete execution of
the business afore described; and in my name
to make and execute due acquittance and dis-
charge, and for the premise, to appear, and the 
person of me the constituent to represent before
any governor or judges, justices, officer, and minister
