Madame:

Your letter of October 17, has duly reached me, and may I start by saying that I am afraid you misunderstood my question, when I asked in my letter of October 14, to Mr. Salomon "whether you intend, as is customary in America, to give a credit line to my firm.." This was not a question about the settlement of expenses, but an Americanism, I suppose, which meant whether you would publish my firm's name, Jacques Seligmann & Co., Inc. New York, in connection with the photographs I am sending you, as it is the usual procedure in the States, and I surmise you are willing to do this.

Now referring to the list of your letter of August 19, I take pleasure in sending you herein: (numbers according to the catalogue of my exhibition)

No. 2 "CHANTEUSE"
No. 4 "FEMME A LA PORTE
No. 7 "LA MERE DE L'ARTISTE" (Re this number see erratum in catalogue)
No. 8 "LA SOUPE"
No. 9 "LE DEJEUNER"
No. 10 "LE CAFE"
No. 13 "EN FAMILLE" (Painting of Mr. and Mrs. Fernand Level)
No. 15 "L'INTIMITE"
No. 16 "LA CHAMBRE VERTE"

I am sorry to be unable to give you photographs of Numbers, 1, 11, 14, and 17.
On the other hand, I am sending you photographs of other painting by VUILLARD which are either at present in my possession, or have passed through the hands of my firm, list of which will follow below.

All the photographs should be mentioned in your catalogue as they are indicated in the catalogue of my exhibition - that is, either with the name of the lender if the name is given in the catalogue, or as private collection if this is the indication.

Additional photographs:
