Far-Field Monitors (FA66WA-1495, Wilcox)

Prior to adapting far-field monitoring for locations as a Category II standard, it has been recommended by the Operations Services to conduct an evaluation at two Category II candidate airports to determine its effectiveness and establish operational procedures. These locations have been selected at Denver, Colorado, Runway 35 and Detroit, Michigan, Runway 3L. Interim guidelines for use of local personnel are being prepared for this evaluation. Reassignments of far-field monitors to Category II locations should they become a requirement following evaluation are being made.
