PERSONNEL CHANGES

COL. WILLIAM B. BUNKER, President of the American Helicopter Society and formerly Commandant, The Transportation School, Fort Eustis, Va., has now been assigned as Commandant of the Transportation Supply and Maintenance Command, St. Louis, Mo.

HARRY B. HORNE, JR., has been named Assistant to the Vice President, Piasecki Helicopter Corp.

ZBYSLAW M. CIOLKOSZ has been designated Chief of Design and Analysis for Piasecki Aircraft Corp.

FRANK E. MAMROL has been named Chief Design Engineer and HERBERT G. SOMERSON, Chief Analytical Engineer of the Piasecki Aircraft Corp.

JAMES W. MARSHALL has been named Controller of Kaman Aircraft Corp. 

Recently appointed to Piasecki Aircraft Corporation's administrative staff were KENNETH R. MEENAN, in charge of overall planning and operation of the company's manufacturing facilities, while ROBERT G. KUTZER has been named Assistant to the Treasurer of the company. Both men were formerly with Piasecki Helicopter Corp.

WALTER J. HATCHER has been named Personnel Administration and Public Relations Director of Doman Helicopters, Inc.

NICHOLAS M. STEFANO, Chief Engineer, American Helicopter Division, Fairchild Engine and Airplane Corp., is now located in the company's plant at Hagerston, Md.

JOHN V. ROBERTS, Short Bros. & Harland Ltd., Belfast, Ireland, is now Helicopter Simulator Engineer

In last month's Newsletter, under "Meeting Announcements,[["]] it was erroneously reported that staff members of the Langley Aeronautical "Library" spoke to members of the Hampton Roads Section.  This should have read members of the Langley Aeronautical "LABORATORY".

INDUSTRY NOTES

The STATE AERONAUTICAL DEPARTMENT OF CONNECTICUT has ordered a helicopter for the purpose of transporting state personnel on emergency work within the state. The type purchased is a SIKORSKI S-51.

PIASECKI HELICOPTER CORP. Board of Directors has proposed that the name of the ferm be changed to VERIPLANE CORP.  Shareholders were asked to vote on this change on October 27th.

A citation from Army Under-Secretary Charles C. Finucane has been awarded the ARMY'S 509th HELICOPTER COMPANY, Ft. Belvoir, Va., for the unit's work in flying 189 hours rescue missions in the recent New England floods which followed hurricane Ione.
