Serious injury means any injury which (1) requires hospitalization for more than 48 hours, commencing within seven days from the date the injury was received; (2) results in a fracture of any bone (except simple fractures of fingers, toes or nose); (3) involves lacerations which cause severe hemorrhages, nerve, muscle or tendon damage; (4) involves injury to any internal organ; or (5) involves second or third degree burns, or any burns affecting more than five percent of the body surface.

Fatal injury means any injury which results in death within 7 days.

B. A minor accident is one which results in minor injury to a person or persons while the rotors or engines are turning or the helicopter is in operation, or results in minor damage to the helicopter, whether or not it is in operation. It includes minor damage to either company or non-company property caused by the helicopter.
 
Minor damage includes damage which is easily repairable such as bent fairing or cowling, small punctured holes or dents in the skin, or damage to tires, engine accessories or landing gear.

Minor injury is an injury which does not require hospitalization and medical treatment for a period of more than four days and does not result in death within thirty days. It includes simple fractures of fingers, toes or the nose, and first degree burns, if less than 5% of the body surface is involved. Severe hemorrhage, injury to internal organs or the muscles are classed as serious injuries.
 
C. A potential accident is an incident which under slightly different circumstances would have resulted in serious damage to the helicopter, property or persons. The Operations Manager shall be notified immediately of all such incidents. No persons outside the Company shall be notified except with permission of the Operations Manager.
