6.3.15 HEATER OPERATION - Continued

4. Fuel booster pump switch -- On
5. Heater control switch -- On.
6. Heater start switch -- Start.
7. Heater selector switch -- As desired.
8. Temperature control -- As desired.

Four basic heat flow variations may be obtained from this system as follows:
1. Maximum cockpit heat.
2. Defroster operation
3. Desired heat level for both cockpit and cabin
4. Maximum cabin heat.

Maximum Cockpit Heat
1. Heater controls -- Position as noted under Heater Operation.
2. Lower defroster levers -- Pull, also open defroster nozzles.

For Maximum Defrosting
1. Upper and lower defroster levers -- Pull.
2. Heater balance valve -- Closed.

Cabin and Cockpit Heat
1. Heater controls -- Position as noted under Heater Operation
2. Upper and lower defroster levers -- As desired.
3. Heat in the cabin cannot be obtained unless the anemostats are open.
Hot air from the heater will then be forced through these louvers which have been pre-adjusted and should not be changed.

Maximum Cabin Heat
1. Heat controls -- Position as noted under Heater Operation.
2. Upper and lower defroster levers -- Closed.
3. Heater Selector switch -- Manual.

6.13.16 WHEEL BRAKE BLEEDING PROCEDURE

1. BRAKES SOFT OR WEAK

This condition usually occurs in the morning after a drop in outside air temperature during the night. There is a thermal relief valve in each transfer cylinder to take care of expanding fluid. Since this is a one way valve, the hydraulic fluid cannot return when the outside air temperature drops. When the hydraulic fluid contracts, the transfer valve pistons will be drawn off their seats. Thus, the initial movement of the brakes pedal will merely slide the transfer valve pistons from one side to the other and there will be insufficient travel in the pedal to direct pressure to the wheel cylinders. The transfer valves are located under the left heel rests of each pilot position. The copilots transfer valve is for the left brake pedal of both
