Office of Bureau of Refugees Freedmen and Abandoned Lands for Robeson Co

Lumberton Aug 17th /65,

This indenture made and entered in to this 17th day of August 1865 between L.W. Thompson of the one part, and Wesley Thompson & wife both of Robeson Co, of the other part witnesseth that for and in consideration of thirty bushels of corn with the little crop which the said Wesley Thompson & wife made for themselves which corn is to be delivered by the said L.W. Thompson [[strikethrough]] & wife [[/strikethrough]] to the said Wesley & wife in the fall. They the said Wesley and wife agree and by these presents do bind themselves to receive as full payment said corn for all work performed by them up to this date for the said L.W. Thompson. The said Wesley and wife, agreeing to remove at an early day from the premises of said T.W. Thompson.
