Office of Bureau of Refugees Freedman &c in Robeson Co.
Lumberton Aug 25th 1865

This Indenture made and entered into this 25th day of August 1865 between Alen Wilkinson of Robeson County of the one part, and Curtis King Freedmen of the other part witnesseth that for and in Consideration of the said Alen Wilkinson paying to the said Curtis King ten dollars in current money of the United States ten bushels of corn with food clothing and medical attendance until January first 1866. Then he the said Curtis King agrees covenants and by these penchants to bind himself to render unto the said Alex Wilkinson true and faithful service as he had been in the habit of doing when a Slave, The afore compensation is for the entire year 1865
