Office of Bureau of Refugees of Freedmen for Robeson Co-
Lumberton N.C. Aug. 25 1865

This Indenture made and entered into this the 25th day of Aug. 1865 between John B. Thompson of the one part and Harry Thompson and Dick Thompson freedmen all of Said co- and State of the one part Witnesseth that for and in consideration the same Ten Bushels of corn and 1 cut of Pork each to be paid by the Said John B. Thompson to each of the above named parties and they are to Serve the above named [[strike through]] parties [[/strike through]] Thompson and to Serve the above named John B. Thompson as faithfully and truly as they have done heretofore. The usual amount of food, clothing, medical attendance &c to be furnished by Said Thompson until next January. Witness our hands- also half of every Saturday to be included.
