Dear Israel,

Just before leaving London, I had the visit at the hotel, of M. Manson, Director of the Tate Gallery, whom you most probably know.

I showed him the pictures I had with me and that is how he had the opportunity of seeing the Boudin. He was struck by the picture, so much that he asked me if we would eventually lend it once more to the gallery.

I told him that the picture was under consideration, and that I did not want to do anything without having the opinion of the eventual purchaser. In any case, I told him it would not be possible for me to leave him the picture for more than a month and a half.

So, dear Israel, the matter lies now completely in your hands. Please let me know what your wishes are and if it is sympathetic to you to see the Boudin hanging once more in the Tate Gallery.

I hope these lines will find you all in a good mood. Please remember me to Bekkie,

Sincerely yours,

Israel Sieff, esq.,
Brookhouse, Park Lane,
London.
