Dear Mr. Skinner,
Mr. Harrington Mann has asked us to get in touch with you and to inquire whether you would kindly lend the portrait of your two daughters for an exhibition which he is going to hold in our galleries for two weeks commencing from the middle of November. He is very anxious to get your pictures for the exhibition and he would have communicated with you himself, but he has suddenly been delayed in London on a very important commission, and will not be sailing until the first week in November.
If it is quite convenient to you, we would like to have the picture here not later than the 11th or 12th of November, so as to give us ample time to arrange the exhibition and have it photographed if necessary for publication purposes.
We would, therefore, esteem it a favor if you could let us know whether or not we may expect your portrait.
In the meanwhile, believe us,
Very truly yours,
JACQUES SELIGMANN & CO., Inc.,
(Clyfford Trevor)

William Skinner, 2nd, Esq.,

Holyoke, Mass.
