Dear Mr. Skinner,

I wish to thank you for your letter of yesterday's date and I am sure Harrington MANN will be very disappointed that he could not have your painting for his exhibition, as he seemed to particularly want this portrait. Anyhow, I am sure he will be pleased to read that you were so delighted and satisfied with it.

By the bye, I believe I had the pleasure of meeting you at Mr. & Mrs. Emil Stehli's one night at dinner a couple of years ago, and I am, therefore, taking this opportunity of asking whether the next time you come to New York Mrs. Skinner and yourself could call in here, as I should like to have the pleasure of showing you through our galleries.

I might mention that we have just brought over a very important painting by GAINSBOROUGH from the famous Sackville Collection. This painting has been at Knole, the seat of the Sackville family from the time it was painted until we recently acquired it.

I am also taking the liberty of enclosing a pamphlet describing and illustrating our main place in Paris, the Ancien Palais de Sagan which I thought you might be interested to see.

Looking forward, therefore, to the pleasure of your visit in the near future, believe me to be

Yours very truly,
