Dear Mr. Smith:

I want to drop you a few lines on Philip Hofer's suggestion.

I had occasion to see him yesterday here at the gallery and showed his certain new paintings which i had previously shown Mr. Jere Abbott and in which he had evidenced quite an interest for the Smith College Museum of Art.

Mr. Hofer was so enthusiastic about two items in particular that I think he is anxious for you to see them and, therefore, I wanted to inquire whether you might be coming to New York in the near future at which time I should like to have the opportunity of showing you these items [[cross out with xxxxxx]] paintings.

I, therefore, look forward to seeing you in the near future and, in the meantime, with all good wishes for Christmas and the New Year, I remain

As always -

Yours very sincerely

(Robert M. Levy)
