L. P. Søegaard, Merchant.
Copenhagen, the 13th May 1950

Messrs. Jacques Seligmann & Co. Inc.,
5 East 57th Street, New York (22).

Dear Sirs,

I thank you for your letter of the31st January, and beg to inform you that owing to a protracted stay abroad I have not been able to forward my reply until now.

Even if there seems to be a possibility for my coming to New York in the autumn to come the prospect for my succeeding in realizing such a plan is at present so small and uncertain that I am greatly interested in obtaining a sale of the Riesner console table and the gobelin, if same can be effected promptly, and if so I am willing to offer you said table and gobelin at prices far below my cost prices, as I offer you the Riesner table at the price of $ 5.000- and the gobelin at the price of $ 2.000; should you wish to buy both I will sell them to you at the total price of $ 6.500-.

I ask you kindly to understand that the said prices absolutely are the lowest prices at which I can dispose of the table and gobelin, and this offer is - as already stated - solely given under the condition that the transaction can be made at once.

Trusting to be favoured with your reply at your earliest convenience

I remain, Dear Sirs,
Yours faithfully,

Søegaard.
