Dear Mr. Sonnenberg:

What a pleasant surprise, and how very thoughtful of you to have had your words followed so promptly by the "Images and Shadows" you had referred to. I have not had time to peruse this book, but the few photographs I have looked at are indeed whetting my curiosity, and I can see from their diversity and from the many places and countries how fascinating Miss Iris Origo's reminiscences must be.

And last but not least these, of course, are greatly enhanced by your own comments about this exceptional woman.

I am thus much looking forward to reading these pages and I know that I shall be most grateful for your kind thought of me.

With best personal regard,

Yours,

Germain Seligmann
