My dear Mrs. Stein:

Germain and my late brother, René, spoke to me very often about you since I had the pleasure of meeting you in Paris some years ago.

As I am now staying in New York, I am wondering if I might have the privilege of calling on you and paying my respects.

May I take the liberty of calling you up to inquire whether and when this might be agreeable to you?

Yours very sincerely,

(Georges E. Seligmann)
