My dear Mr. Seligmann:

On December 15th I called your office to ask you to see the School of Fontainebleau picture before I had to cover it in preparation for actual transference. Finding that you will be out of town for quite some time, I am proceeding with the work.

The cleaning, a necessary part of the transference, had taken much more time than I anticipated. The work now will dictate its own time schedule, independent of your or my desire to hasten it. You will hear from me as soon as the metamorphosis is complete.

With my best for the holidays,

Very sincerely yours,
William Suhr
