The following agreement made this 11th day of May in the year 1864 in the City of New York between Barnes & Burr of said city and Isaac G. Hubbs of New Orleans who is authorized by the Board of Education, established by the order of Major Gen. Banks for the benefit of Freedmen of Louisiana.
"To purchase  Books Charts, Slates and other Stationary required to supply the schools for the people of color under Order #38 of Major Gen. Banks Command Dept of the Gulf. said purchases not to exceed the sum of Ten Thousand (10,000) Dollars"
Said Barnes Burr agree to sell to the Board of Education aforementioned the following Books and and Articles at the prices annexed for cash on delivery; 
over
