My dear Florence:

I am sending you herewith the book on
Cezanne and a photograph of the picture about
which I spoke to you. It marks the page in
which the picture is reproduced.

I want to draw your attention to the fact
that the picture is of magnificent quality. It
is a picture which could very well be placed
next to a Rembrant.

I also want to tell you that Cezanne is a
painter who has left a great many unfinished
canvases which are of minor or of no interest
whatsoever. What makes the value of this pict-
ure is that it is very finished and also that
it represents one of the Card Players, which
is one of Cezanne's most celebrated works.

Hoping to see you soon kindly believe me,
with my best wishes to Edwin, to be,

yours Sincerely,

(René Séligmann)
