New York City.

Dear Mr. Wallace:

Your Mother, Mrs. Sanderson, has delivered to us the paintings described to us as follows:

Painting by GUARDI "The Rialto and Grand Canal"
Painting by ROMNEY "Madame de Genlis"
Painting by RAEBURN "Mrs. John Campbell, Sr."
Painting by HOPPNER "Lady Melbourne"
Painting by TENIERS, the Younger "Landscape"

and which we are informed belong to you.

We have been instructed to obtain insurance covering these pictures. In connection with the obtaining of such insurance, the insurance companies require a statement covering the ownership of the pictures and the valuations thereof.

We are enclosing herein a regular form affidavit for such purposes, and would appreciate your signing same before a Notary Public, and returning the enclosure to us without delay. You will note that we have left a blank covering the present valuations of the pictures, which should be filled in by you at the time of signing.

We, of course, assume no liability whatsoever toward the said works of art by reason of our actions herein and shall look to you and Mrs. Sanderson for re-imbursement of the expenses of the said premiums or otherwise in connection with the safe keeping of these works of art.

We appreciate the opportunity of being of service to you.

Very truly yours,
