RICHARD WHEATLAND
Vice President, New York Airways,
La Guardia Airport,
Flushing, N. Y.

The problem of end-on transportation for trunk airline passengers is becoming acute. Any number of solutions to carry the passengers closer to their destination has been offered. It appears, however, that VTOL aircraft provide the most practical door-to-door transportation available today. The Pan Am Building Heliport is a striking example in this direction.

For presentation at the Sesquicentennial Forum on Transportation Engineering, New York, N. Y., August 28-30, 1967. One of a series of technical and scientific meetings, celebrating the Sesquicentennial year of the New York Academy of Sciences, 1817-1967. Co-sponsors: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers with the participation of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. Manuscript received at ASME Headquarters, May 23, 1967.

Copies will be available until June 1, 1968.
