I address you relative to a matter in which Mr William H Mooney of my county is interested Immediately after The Army passes through my County for some considerable Time nothing but disorder prevailed after order was on Tobler hill and the government combined a professional Court the citizens were diligent in every movement to restore order and kind feelings which had a very happy effect. The government had entire control of this court. Two small colored children having no father or mother in the most awful condition were bound to Mr William H Mooney at Magnolia. The names of these children are Harriet and Jane. They left Mr Mooney a short since and are in Duplin County will you be so kind as to forward me an order for them to return to Mr Mooney. He is a valuable citizen kind and strictly attentive to all his duties. When those people were in a state of slavery, he attended to all their wants and needs and made a most excellent master I hope my request will be promptly taken into consideration
