Stoughton April 9th 1949

Dear Doris this is April weather showers every other thing. not so cold. but uncertain what to expect from one time to another. Sunday we had lots of fires. every body seemed to be burning over their lawns. there were several silent alarms. you see we had not had as many rains & grasses were terrible dry from the want of rain. since April came in, we have had constant rainy weather. she has gone to Brockton with Laura this afternoon & was in a quandry to know what to wear as the weather looked like rain. now a cloud has just blown over & is spitting a few drops of rain. Brockton had a thunder shower the first of the week we got wind which made cold weather.

Mrs. Pupello told me yesterday she had been sick two or three days with a gaul bladder trouble. guess she is all right now, as she goes to work down to his store daily. she said the folks over to Miss [[Lariacs?]] house were offering that little house for sale for the same price they paid for this house of Ballantines. she was sorry they bought it so she says.

The sun is shining out good & bright now, so guess it will be pleasant for the rest of the day. it said over the radio clearing this afternoon I hope it will be pleasant tomorrow for Doris wrote to tell us she was coming out tomorrow night to stay over Sunday. we haven't seen her since Thanksgiving day. guess she has been pretty busy. study takes most her time & boy friends the rest of it, so we dont believe she is to blame
