Stoughton Feb. 24th 1949              

Dear Doris I got your letter this morning. its a very mild day ground is fare not cold as it has been a very good day to be out. The Bruces are going to pay taxes & water rates next month. she is working. she told us the drains are leaking & he will do the fixing of them, if we find the material. Irma was here last night. she brought me a box of candy. I had too much her last Xmas box I have not eaten much of it takes away my appetite. I hav'nt seen Doris since last Thanksgiving day. Gertrude Ballantine gave me a nice box of stationary & was coming over to see me on my birthday but had company come just as they got ready to start. I have done some washing today washe two dresses they didn't freeze got them dried without just as I wanted them to.  love Ma.
