Stoughton February 18th 1969

Dear Doris
         
This is a milder day than Saturday up to 40° early this morning where yesterday it went down to zero & remained frigid all day.  The ground is almost free from snow it seems good she has just gone off to church with Frank Reynolds. Mr Hughs the Congregational minister has resigned he has got too old to preach, his throat fills up & bothers him in talking

Mr Propello has gone for a weeks stay in Florida. they say it is cold down there. Josephine her sister went down the first of this month, her husbands folks are living there, so guess it wont cost her so much.

I dont think we can complain much about the weather we have had this winter only a little snow and nothing very cold compared with weather last year. February thus far, has been our worst month it most always is a very bad month but is soon over.

Norma Laney called up to tell us that she has been in the Hospital & is just home. it seems she had her appendix removed. her husbands sister lives with them. so she was there to carry on with the home work while she was gone.

Winnie Trollope is having heart spells she may go before he does in one of them. Richard rides down with
