Dear Doris

We are having nice pleasant weather and the ground is bare, no snow to ammount to any thing. so far, thermometer at 40° early this morning. hope we have this weather the rest of the season. but am afraid winter is still to come.

I am still sewing on Doris nighties, have got them most done. it was hard cutting them out of the old pair I found in the closet & find I am not as good at such things as when younger. I found after I sent your bundle off a good new chemise that had never been worn, in the closet, where so many of your things had been packed. do you think you have got enough to last till you come home? if you have, its all right. I suppose your time now most of it is spent at the museum, where your still busy on those beetles. glad Sidneys back is much better. he must be careful for a longtime. your are both too ambitious & in the long run, it does not pay.

Over across the way at Mr Gowards there is a new baby & already they have begun to put it out to sleep in a baby carriage. when it was born all she had for the care of her was the Distric Nurse, who came every morning for less than a week, so different than it was when I was young.
