Dear Doris

The new year came in dark & cloudy also cold I thought it seemed a terrible long day so went off to bed very early slept sound. the wind which had lasted so long went down. it rained & there was a little covering of snow in places I noticed when I got up this morning. its still cloudy may come more snow later on. but hope not!

I have noticed in looking over to the Hospital a bright light in the room this way for several nights & wondered what made it. so it seems the woman in that room was sick and has since died. she was George Belchers house keeper. Gertrude payed to take care of her. she used to go up there very often payed her way all throug her stay there. Mrs Barry used to meet her there most every time she went over to see Cora Brock. she occupied the room with her. Gertrude Belcher & Mrs Barry were friends when they were growing up & never forgot each other after then & when they met over there they used to plan how they could meet on the same day at the hospital. its a pity Cora dont pass on. she is not a bit happy over there no one likes her. Maude seems the only one who takes comfort it must be her nature for she has seen trouble enough the
