I hereby certify that the following articles and sections of the Constitution of the National Congress of American Indians as amended September 2, 1955, were considered and amended to read as set forth below pursuant to the unanimous action of the 14th Annual Convention of the National Congress of American Indians, Claremore, Oklahoma, November 1, 1957. 

Article IV, Section 1, of the Constitution shall be amended to read as follows:

"Nominations. Nominations for President, First Vice-President, Second Vice-President, Third Vice-President and Recording Secretary shall be made from the floor of the Convention. Only members in good standing shall qualify for nomination or election." 

Article IV, Section 2, of the Constitution shall be amended to read as follows:

"Elections. The President, First Vice-President, Second Vice-President, Third Vice-President and Recording Secretary shall be elected by secret ballot, by a majority vote of all members present and voting."

Article V, Section 1, of the Constitution shall be amended to read as follows:

"Membership. The Executive Council shall consist of one duly certified representative of each tribe which is a member tribe in addition to the President, the First Vice-President, the Second Vice-President, the Third Vice-President, Recording Secretary and the Treasurer, each of whom shall hold office until his successor is certified or elected and qualified. In addition, the members
of the present Executive Council shall serve until their terms are completed. Each member shall have one vote."
