MR. MAHONE: I am very glad to understand that part. If I go back and tell my people about voting in my state they would naturally say, "Well you went to that convention and made up an agreement to make you a white man on everything". They will be funny about that, you know. MR. DWIGHT: You want to have something in writing there to show about that voting. You will be provided with a record of the convention. MR. MAHONE: I want to get a copy of John Collier's letter. MR. ATTOCKNIE: Mr. Chairman, I would like to ask one question before the committees report their findings. That question is a little lengthy. I want to know how many of the people in this room whose conditions are similar to mine. Some people come from reservation is already allotted and we live on allotted lands and the problems I am going to present in two or three clauses may be different from some of the others. I want to add in the resolution something in behalf of the other tribes. What is good for me may not be what the others want, some of the others who live on reservations, and I want to know what they want so if they will show me how many there are that still hold onto their allotted lands, my resolution will have to do with that, and I want this information so I won't feel that I am the only one that has that interest in the Committee. 12 persons present live on their original allotments. MR. CROSS: I think to expedite the procedure of this meeting all these talks should be ironed out in their resolutions. DAVID DOZIER, Chairman of the Credential Committee present his report. It was moved and seconded that the report of the Credentials Committee be approved. Motion adopted. Announcement was made that all people who had just arrived should see Mr. Dozier and present their credentials and be certified to before being eligible to vote. D'ARCY McNICKLE introduced Mr. Michael Pijoan who delivered a speech relative to health conditions among Indians. EDWARD CATA, Chairman of the Steering Committee presented the report of that Committee. Motion was made and seconded that the report be accepted. Motion Carried. Announcement was made that the Constitutional Committee would be ready with its report after lunch. S.C.DeMERS, Chairman of the Resolutions Committee asked that members of the convention submit any resolutions they may wish to present to his committee in writing by 5:00 p.m. Thursday. Meeting adjourned at 11:45 for lunch.
