90 [italics] his case and passes it on to [/italics] PARKER.) Here's your money.

MR. PARKER
Now this is what I like to see!

BLUE
(Passes some bills to MR. JENKINS.) And you, Mr. Jenkins.

MR. JENKINS
Than you, young man. But from here on in, you can count me out of your operation.

BLUE
What's the trouble?

MR. JENKINS
No trouble at all. I just want to be out of it.

BLUE
People and headaches——that's all I ever get from all the Mr. Jenkinses in this world!

MR. JENKINS
Why don't you be quiet sometime, boy.

MR. PARKER
I'm afraid he's telling you right, Blue.

BLUE
He telling me that he is a damn idiot, who can get himself hurt?

THEO
Who's going to hurt him?

(They all stare at BLUE.)

BLUE
(Calming down.) I'm sorry. I guess I'm working too hard these days. I got a call today from one of them "black committees" here in Harlem...

heard of us, but they never see us——meaning they never see us picketing, demonstrating, and demanding something all the time.

MR. PARKER
So?

BLUE
They want us to demonstrate with them next Saturday, and I have decided to set up a demonstrating committee, with you in charge, Mr. Parker.

MR. PARKER
You what!

BLUE
You'd be looking good!

MR. PARKER
You hear that! (Cynical laughter.) I'd be looking good! Count me out! When I demonstrate, it's for real!

BLUE
You demonstrate in front of any store out there on that street, and you'll have a good sound reason for being there!

MR. PARKER
I thought you said we was suppose to be different, and we was to drive out that Mr. You-Know-Somebody——well, ain't that what we doing? Two stores already done put up "going out of business" signs.

BLUE
That's what we started this whole thing for, and that's what we're doing.

MR. PARKER
I got some questions about that, too. I don't see nothing that we're doing that would cause a liquor store, a clothing store, and a radio store to just all of a sudden close down like that, unless we've been raiding and looting them at night or something like that.
