I think everyone admired Jackie, I really do, most of the women in the group when I was there did not want to be militarized and they knew that Jackie was shooting for that, but that's the only thing they really held against her. 

MOST DID NOT WANT TO BE MILITARZIED? DID THEY WANTED TO RETAIN THEIR CIVILIAN STATUS?

Yes, We were all so individual and independent. [[crossed-out]] that's the thing [[\crossed-out]] 

THAT'S VERY INTERESTING. 

Well I think [[crossed-out]] to me I thought [[\crossed-out]] that was the way they all felt. I did not care one way or another, to tell you the truth, [[crossed-out]] that [[\crossed-out]] My feeling was, I wanted to [[crossed-out]] do it [[\crossed-out]] fly and if that's what I had to do to [[crossed-out]] do it [[\crossed-out]] fly then I'll become part of the military but many of the people in our group did not want it. 

THERE [[crossed-out]] ARE [[\crossed-out]] WERE SOME PEOPLE THAT FELT QUITE STRONGLY ABOUT MILITARIZATION. 

I don't know if those were the kids who had gone through later or the ones who went before me  I was [[crossed-out]] kind of like [[\crossed-out]] in the middle  I think they started just the September before, [[crossed-out]] I think [[\crossed-out]] and there had been almost a year's program which that started out in Houston when they didn't have the airbase yet; So I was just about in the middle when I went through. The last class graduated the December of 44
