Col, Glenn McIntryre, state commander, Maj. Bryan is credited with saving the life of the pilot of a helicopter which crashed on the Morristown field several weeks ago. 

Pilot's Rescuer Honored by CAP
MORRISTOWN, July 30 (special)- An award for saving the life of a helicopter pilot has been given Maj, Evelyn Bryan, member of the Civil Air Patrol and co-owner of the aiport and flying service at Morristown. 
Maj. Bryan was alone at the field when a TVA helicpoter crashed there several weeks ago. She crawled under the whirling blades of the plane and turned off the ignition, preventing a possible fire. 
The "distinguished service award" of the CAP was presented Sunday by Lt. Col, Glenn T. McIntyre of Oak Ridge, commander of Group IV, Tennessee Wing.
Maj. Bryan is one of four women helicopter instructors in the United States.

Evelyn Bryan Is Given CAP Award
An award for saving the life of a helicopter pilot has been given Mar. Evelyn Bryan, member of the Civil Air Patrol and co-owner of the airport and flying service at Morristown. She is a daughter of Mrs. E. W. Stone of Etowah and St. Cloud, Fla, and sister of Mrs. W. R. Brown of Etowah.
Maj. Bryan was alone at the field when a TVA helicopter crashed there some time ago. She crawled under the whirling blades of the craft and turned off the ignition, preventing a possible fire. 
The "distinguished service award of the CAP was presented to Maj. Bryan by Lt. Col. Glenn T. McIntyre of Oak Ridge, commander of Group IV, Tennessee Wing.
Maj. Bryan is one of four women helicopter instructors in the United States.

Mrs. Bryan Given CAP Award for Saving Pilot's Life

MRs. Evelyn Bryan has been presented the Civil Air Patrol's Distinguished Service Award for saving the life of a helicopter pilot after a crash at the airport here.
Mrs. Bryan, who holds the rank of major in the CAP and is a licensed helicopter pilot, crawled on her hands and knees [[?]] [[?]] whirling blades of the [[?]] [[?]] to cut the ignition, thereby [[?]] the possibility of fire. 
The crash occurred several months ago.

CAP Honors Mrs. Evelyn Bryan in Rescue of Pilot
A Morristown pilot has been honored by the Civil Air Patrol for saving the life of a helicopter pilot here on April 28. Mrs. Evelyn Bryan, herself

 a 'copter pilot crawled under the revolving blades of a helicopter after it crashed on takeoff at the Morristown Airport. She turned off the ignition and was instrumental in the rescue of the pilot. A passenger was killed in the wreck. The CAP's distinguished service award was presented Mrs. Bryan in ceremonies at the airport Sunday by Lt. Col. Carl McIntyre of Oak Ridge, Commander of Group IV of the CAP's Tennessee Wing.
Captain Bill Harrell, Commander of the Morristown CAP squadron, was among local CAP members at the ceremony. Mrs. Bryan is a major in the CAP.
