Engineering Division 49
Memorandum Report No. ENG-695-32-N
4 March 1944

for pockets and button cuffs, as above.
3. Subject 2 found design of alpaca jacket good. Pockets and knit cuff of sleeve good, fur collar good.
4. Subject 2 found quilted pants over bulky around hips, both standing and sitting. Bent knee feature good but perhaps over bulky behind and beside knee. Also leg seams seem to twist when sitting down. Knitted leg cuff good. Pockets good.
5. Gloves comfortable and flexible.

General recommendations:
1. Knitted cuffs at legs.
2. Side slit pockets in jacket.
3. Pockets each side pants.
Knee pocket in pants for maps, etc.
4. Bent knee pants with less excess bulk and with seams that do not twist.
5. Emergency exit zipped good but not necessary (straight up and down leg zipped).
6. Gloves with thumb, index finger and the rest mitten for this temperature, -10°C.

Suggest retest of clothes at temperature limit assigned them and under actual flying conditions to test for binding, parting at waist, flexibility, and wind resistance as compared to leather clothes.
