INTRODUCTION

1. This section QM 3-2, Army Service Forces Quartermaster Supply Catalog, List of Items for Troop Issue, WACs' and Nurses' Clothing and Equipment. It contains those standard items of Quartermaster female clothing and individual equipment of the authority for requisition and issue of which is found in T/E 21, Clothing and Individual Equipment, Table of Organization and Equipment, and ASF Catalog QM 4, Allowances of Expendable Supplies.
2.Sections of the QM 3 series are as follows:
a. QM 3-1, List of Items for Troop Issue, Enlisted Men's Clothing and Equipment.
b. QM 3-2, List of Items for Troop Issue, WACs' and Nurses' Clothing and Equipment.
c. QM 3-3, List of Items for Issue to Posts, Camps, and Stations.
d. QM 3-4, List of Items for Issue to Troops, Miscellanerous Organizational Equipment.
3. Each section of the QM 3 series contains the following instruction:
a. Introduction, including any instructions necessary to the clarity of the text.
b. An alphabetical index.
c. Illustrations and descriptions of the principal items contained in the section.
4. Correct nomenclature, stock numbers, and expendability are given for each item in this section. Illustrations and descriptions are furnished so that those concerned may become familiar with the general appearance of various items. Types and specifications will vary from time to time, therefore the illustrations cannot always be used for surveys, over, short, and damage reports, or for purposes of procurement. Neither are they necessarily in proportionate size, since it is sometimes expedient to clarify small items or to conserve space on large ones.
5. This section is subdivided into several groupings which are listed in the Contents, A complete index lists every individual item alphabetically, with the number of the page on which it appears.
6. A complete list of sizes is not given for many items in this catalog. In such cases the stock number indicates the coverage, for example, Shoes, Service, Women's, Low, Stock No. 72-S-2375-43-72-S-2384-21. In writing requisitions, lower echelons should specify the particular sizes desired. Higher echelons, in consolidating these requisitions, should refer to ASF Quartermaster Supply Catalog, QM 5, "Stock List of All Items," and insert the proper stock number for the various sizes.
7. Each expendable item is marked "X" in the Expendable column in accordance with AR 35-6620.
8. Weight and specification number have been indicated where information was available.
