This sleeping bag is used in extremely cold weather. It consists of two down and feather filled cases, the inner one being a regular mountain sleeping bag. The outer case has a hood and a full mummy shape, but is closed with snaps. The two cases may be tied together by mean of the tapes at the foot of each bag. When the weather is only moderately cold and it is important to cut down on weight the outer case may be left at the base.

LINER, BAG, SLEEPING
Stock No. 27-L-1175
LIMITED STANDARD - To be issued until exhausted
A washable sleeping bag liner which fits all types of sleeping bags. It adds somewhat to the warmth of the bag and keeps it a great deal cleaner. It should always be used with the mountain and the Arctic sleeping bags, and may be used if desired with the more easily laundered wool sleeping bag. In cold weather, the liner hood flap may be made into the shape of a funnel to catch moisture from the breath, or may be pulled inside the bag to keep drafts from going down past the shoulders.
