Stoughton March 19th 1960

Doris Dear
This is a lovely sunny day & not very cold a good deal of the snow which covered the ground has disappeared another bad day was prophesied with very cold weather but we were lucky not to get it being such a pleasant day my neighbors are all going to church. This last snow storm was so moist with the rain it was harder to sweep but I managed to get it down to the road to the front door before noon it was bare ground.
I think you had a light fall of snow down your way these February & March months are our worst but they will soon be gone and everybody will welcome spring weather be glad to hear the frogs peep.
We read of Hattie Tuckers death this last week she was the last of her race, you went to school to her guess you remember her. it is much better to die young I think. We ordered Oil and called up Mr Murphy he told Mrs Barry he read of my birthday party in the paper and said if he had known of it before, he would have sent along a card. But she said that I was pretty well remembered by every one who knew me.
