Office Assistant Commissioner
Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands
Montgomery, Ala. Jany 13th 1866

Col M.D. Wickersham
Chief Quarter Master
Mobile, Alabama

Colonel:

This will be handed by by Brvt Lt. Col Edward Might. Paymaster & Disbursing officer of this Bureau who calls in relation to the detail of Capt E.P. Graves A.Q.M.

Since the arrival of that officer at this Post I have had full conversations with him of the same tenor as that between ourselves at Mobile. He is ready and willing, as then agreed on, to discharge for this Bureau such duty as remains to be done in pursuance of Executive order of Nov 10th 1865. This in addition to his present duties as A.Q.M. at this Post. But the care of the Posts outside this City and within this District he feels to be beyond his capacity in the event mentioned, and he suggests in this connection that as the Posts at Tuskegee and Opelike are he understands to be discontinued if the Posts at Selma and Greenville reported directly to you at Mobile, there would be no further difficulty.
