Mobile Ala Lieutenant The Asst Commissioner directs that the collection of Aged infirm and destitute people in Monroe County under the charge of Mr. Garland Goode be considered as a Hospital and Asylum. General I have the honor to report the return of a Special Agent sent to Clark County to investigate the recent statements of alleged sale of Freedmen in that County. I am glad to say that after traversing the greater part of the County meeting with one or two men known for encompassing loyalty, besides Freedmen and the people and Authorities of the County assembled at the opening of Court, he could yet find no one who had heard or thought of anything of the kind.
