In reply the General directs me to say that in accordance with instructions from the Commissioner he has already forwarded a recommendation containing the names of such Officers, as he deemed worthy; and that your name was included in the list. I enclose you herewith ten ($10) dollars to pay bill of the Sheriff from Claiborne. It was the Generals intention that this should be paid at once by the Bureau but through my misunderstanding, 225 it was not done. Please cause the enclosed Vouchers to be signed and returned to this office.
