In reply the General directs me to say that in accordance with instructions from the Commissioner he has already forwarded a recommendation containing the names of such Officers, as he deemed worthy; and that your name was included in the list.

The case of the attempted arrest (of) the Maj Humphrey with your endorsement of the 15th inst is received. I enclose you herewith ten ($10) dollars to pay bill of the Sheriff from Claiborne. It was the Generals intention that this should be paid at once by the Bureau but through my misunderstanding,

it was not done. Please cause the enclosed Vouchers to be signed and returned to this office. The General desires that you report the terms at which the tug used by the Quartermaster can be obtained for the purpose of securing Humphrey's.

The Asst Commr. directs that if the woman who was sold as a vagrant by Mr. Wrigley Justice of the Peace from Butler Choctaw Co is now within reach that she together with her husband be given transportation to this place with directions to report at these Hd Qr's and that you forward also any and all information which will tend to the conviction of said Waugley under the Civil Rights Bill
