Sir

An aged colored woman named Hester Miller has presented herself at this office asking that transportation be furnished for herself and two children aged from five (5) to seven (7) years old from this place to Macon Ga. She states that three or four years ago she had two children (named John aged about 25 years, Sophy aged about 27 years) the first being a carpenter and the latter a seamstress and that they were the property of a Mr. Andrew J Miller a lawyer residing in Macon. Not wishing to give her transportation unless her children are now in Macon and in a condition to support her. I write to you asking that you will furnish me with such information as you may be able to collect relative thereto.

Very Respectfully
