In reply to your letter of the 30th alt. requesting to have Capt Haney 15th Infty detailed as A.A.J.M. at Mobile I have the honor to say that the Comdg General being at present absent and not likely to return before the 20th of this November. It is not deemed advisable to make the change by relieving the officer at present performing the duty of A.A.G.M. I will call the Generals attention to your letter on his return.

I directed Lieut Tull a few days ago to proceed to Mobile to attend the Court Martial. Is it necessary that he should return, or are you able to attend to business. 
I have not heard from you for sometime past. Please write or if need be telegraph on receipt of this as to the necessity of having another officer at the Post.

I have been informed by the Superintendent of Schools, Bureau Refugees and Freedmen that the Supt of Freedmen District of Selma has set apart a certain building, located in the city of Selma, and on ground belonging to the Bureau, for a Freedmens School house The building I am told requires certain repairs to make it suitable for school purposes. The amount of repairs has been agreed upon between you and the Supt of schools 
This letter is thereupon deemed sufficient authority for you to proceed to make the above mentioned repairs, not to exceed however in your expectation two hundred dollars 
As soon as the repairs are completed, you will forward a statement of the amount of different articles purchased by, in fitting up the building referred to, when an order will be issued authorizing the purchase and directing payment of the same by the proper disbursing officer.
The amount of 200. herein authorized will be for payment of labor as well as material required to make the repairs needed &c.
