Application has been made to the commisioner for transportation for Matilda Grisson "an old decrepid freedwoman" from Griffin Ga to Dadeville Ala where it is said she has three (3) children named Johnny, Patience, and Martha Grisson. Before this person is furnished transportation it is desirable to aseertain if these children are able and willing to support their Mother. If you are in possession of or can gain any information in regard to this and will forward it to this office, you will greatly oblige.

Le Baron Maj Thos. M.
Mobile Ala

Sir

A colored man named "Henry Dye" with his wife and three (3) children and two children of his sister have arrived in this city from Kershaw District S.C enroute to Mobile Ala. Henry's money has given out and under present orders no transportation can be furnished him by the Government. He therefore asks that his sister "Margaret Arnold" whom he states is living either with or near you may be informed of his situation and that if possible she will send him sufficient money to be enable them to go to Mobile, where Henry expects to get work from the proceeds of which he can pay back the money advanced. An early reply to this will oblige.

Probate Judge Chambers Co

Sir

Burril Lockhart (Col) makes complaint at this office that Lee Gunn who lives near Cusseta in Chambers Co has in his possession child of the former named Silvia aged twelve (12) to fifteen (15) years who is not bound to Gunn and whom he refuses to give up. It is desirable to ascertain whether or not the child has been bound to Gunn that if it has not steps may be taken to remove it from his custody and restore it to the Father. An early reply giving information on this point will greatly oblige

Asst. Supt Talladega Ala

Sir

Your communication of the 12" inst asking that a certain amount of clothing for issue to the inmates of the Freedmens Hospital might be sent you is received. A small invoice of clothing for issue to the destitute was sent you on the 14" inst at the request of Mrs Hobson. Until that is exhausted it is not deemed desirable to make another issue unless the present amount will not relieve the more pressing wants of those under your charge.

Very Respectfully
