Sir It is reported that Noah Turner Justice of the Peace with one Robert Crew, wagoner Beat No 8, Coosa Co. are abusing the public charity by taking rations to pay transportation at unfair prices. Hauling Corn at $1.25 per hundred from Wetumpka when they haul for private parties at .75 cts per hundred from Montgomery, and take one half the Corn in payment. That the driver is a noted Secessionist and many destitute Union people in the Beat are not receiving assistance. If these complaints are probably true, the parties must at once be discharged, the guilty are liable to trial by Military Commission, and will be brought here and so tried, if the facts warrant such action.
