In accordance with your request for a Clerk to be sent you Mr M Relfa has been directed to report to you.  He has but little knowledge of the work of the Department but writes a good hand and will I think do well.  He has taken the prescribed Oath of Office.  His pay at eighty dollars ($80.00) per month will commence from this date.

I have the honor to request that Mr G.W. Farrand may be appointed Agent of the Bureau in this District to date from Oct. 1st. 1867, at a salary of one hundred dollars per month.  Also that Mr M Relfa may be appointed Clerk at eighty dollars ($80.00) per month to date from this day.  Mr Farrand

is to have charge of Hale County and Mr Relfa takes Mr Wilda's place at Talladega.
