I have the honor to acknowledge receipt of revocation and appointment in the case of R.N. O'Connor and John R. Hart as requested by letter from this Office of the 11th inst. Mr. Hart's appointment needs to take effect Sept. 21st/67 instead of Oct 21st as requested, as this is presumed to be a clerical error it has been corrected to read Oct. 21st.

Referring to your telegram of the 18th inst. in reference to a fatal difficulty between H.S. Claus an agent of the Bureau and another individual, which telegram was answered on date of its reception directing that Claus be held from the Civil Authorities until further Orders. The Asst. Comm. directs that Mr. Claus be turned over to the Civil Authorities provided they make requisition for him. The action taken by the authorities must be noted and if it appears that an injustice is intended towards Mr. Claus, the Military Authorities will then interfere.
