Washington D.C. with the information that the Surg at Talladega requires a horse and equipment for the following reasons, viz: - The Hospital at Talladega is three miles from town. The roads are rough at all seasons. There is but one Ambulance at the place, which is required for the transportation of the Sick.

Greenville Ala April 12" 1867 Respectfully returned with the information that the within named child is legally bound so far as the letter of the law is concerned as will appear from the enclosed copy of minutes from the Probate Judge. No opportunity of learning satisfactorily whither the child desires to return to her Mother or not has presented itself. the statement of the master or of the child in his presence not being taken as evidence. It is suggested that the child be sent for by order of the Asst Commr. and the question be decided by herself while free from duress of fear.
