Respectfully returned with the recommendation to Mr R Thomas be appointed Justice of the Peace and intendent of the town of Uniontown Perry Co in the place of Robt Christian now Intendant of Uniontown Last month I telegraphed Robt Christian to assist John Callaway who passed through this place on the train.  Callaway was connected with the murder of Alex Webb Register of Green Co & he declined to make the arrest stating that he was no Justice of the Peace.  Callaway therefor escaped.
