No 60 series of 1867 referred to in the order requiring the journey refers to the removal of the growing crop doubtless some question arising as to the paying the Freedmen a question for the freedmen Bureau besides the latest paper or the subject is Bvt Maj Genl Swaynes order of Dec 18 in which John Burns is designated as clerk in the Bureau the order is headed B R.F.&A.L and what is more specific the Dist agent of the Bureau is directed to pay it. The Comdg Genl is required to see that each fund is made to bear its legitimate share of the expenditures of public money and he thinks the Bureau should pay this.
