Dist of Ala when the detachment under Command of Lieut Winslow arrived here the weather was very cold and at the request of Lieut Winslow I purchased wood for the detachment. At the end of the month Lieut Winslow certified to the account which I forwarded to the Q. M. at Selma. In rendering my act I was governed by the amt of money expended by myself and would regret to meet with any loss through the negligence of any one.
